Leadership Council

Chair: Rev. Dr. Philip Oehler

The purpose of the Leadership Council of the presbytery is “to help congregations and the
church as a whole to be more faithful participants in the mission of Christ” (G-3.0101). They
accomplish this by holding accountable the commissions, committees, and task forces of the
presbytery in their work. They meet monthly to coordinate and administer the activities of the
presbytery as directed in the by-laws. Some of their recent work includes putting together the
policies on Anti-Racism and Harassment. The membership of the Leadership Council is evenly divided between teaching and ruling elders. The Council is comprised of the Executive Co-Leaders, the Moderator, the Moderator-Elect, the Stated Clerk, the immediate past Moderator, two past moderators of the presbytery, and three Members at Large.

Mission Committee

Chair: Rev. Peter Hofstra

The Mission Committee’s core work is to encourage Mission activity within the Presbytery. They select grant recipients for Mission Giving, and then highlight mission partners to congregations and Presbytery.

Since our missionary partner Jonathan Seitz had to return to the United States, we’re currently working on how we can be engaged in international mission work in a time of transition.
